KABAR ALAM - After a long time, the Padmosari flower or Rafflesia zollingeriana in Meru Betiri National Park, Jember Regency , East Java, finally bloomed.
The good news was uploaded by the official Instagram account of Meru Betiri National Park on Monday 12 September 2022.
The Padmosari flower grows in the Rafflesia Parang Kulon Permanent Block, Sukamade Resort, SPTN 1 Sarongan.

What makes this Padmosari flower even more special is that it grows and blooms at a position of 1 meter above ground level with a diameter of 36.5 cm.
"This flower position is rare because the humidity is less than ideal for growth compared to the position on the ground," the account tweeted.
The conservation efforts for endemic flora are carried out intensively through habitat development and routine monitoring on 2 permanent plots of the Krecek Block, Bandealit and Parang Kulon Block, Sukamade.
Padmosari flower is a rare and endemic flora of Meru Betiri National Park. First encountered by Kooders in 1902 in Puger, Jember.
Rafflesia zollingeriana is a protected species based on Government Regulation Number 7 of 1999 concerning Preservation of Plant and Animal Species. This flower has an endangered status according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 1997.
Rafflesia zollingeriana belongs to the Rafflesiaceae family which is a holoparasite plant, which is a plant that is completely dependent on other plants for its food needs.
