KABARALAM - The government through the Ministry of Environment and Forestry ( KLHK ) has designated Moyo Satonda, West Nusa Tenggara , as a national park.

The decision was based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 901/MENLHK/SETJEN/PLA.2/8/2022 dated August 16, 2022.

Thus, Indonesia currently has 55 national parks.

As quoted from the Instagram account @ayoketamannasional_official , the most interesting tourist attractions in this area are the waterfalls and the Matajitu River whose water is turquoise green on Moyo Island.

The beauty of the Matajitu waterfall is the dream tourist destination for world celebrities.

Lady Diana, Maria Sarapova, Mick Jagger, Edwin van der Sar and South Korean stars Rain and Kim Tae Hee have visited this place.

Moyo Satonda National Park is very charming offering the underwater beauty and stunning land views.

The volcanic lake with ancient life on Satonda Island was formed from an eruption that formed a symbol of love (heart).

In addition, secondary season forests in this area provide biological beauty, charred birds, small yellow-crested macaques, Timor deer, Nusa Tenggara parrots, deer, eagles and pythons as well to be inhabitants of this area.

Currently, Moyo Satonda National Park, which is included in the delineation of the Saleh Moyo Tambora Biosphere Reserve, is under the management of the West Nusa Tenggara ( NTB ) Natural Resources Conservation Center .***
